Lightning Spotlight

Current NHL Season

The Tampa Bay Lightning played well into the summer again last year but fell two wins short of a Stanley Cup three-peat. The team has played 71 playoff games the past three seasons, but head coach Jon Cooper has become adept at managing the team’s workload during the regular season so they’ve been able to perform well in the playoffs. Ondrej Palat, one of the key members of this run, left in free agency, and the team is hoping that Mikhail Sergachev will step into a bigger role. Aside from that, the key members of the group (Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy) all return.

Past Spotlights

The Lightning have had less time away from the ice than anyone over the past two seasons: the price that comes with winning Lord Stanley’s Cup in back-to-back years. Tampa Bay’s quest for the “threepeat” begins without some of the supporting cast integral to those wins, but enough of the core group remains to make it more than possible. It starts with whom many considered to be the best goaltender on the planet, former Vezina Trophy winner and recent recipient of the Conn Smythe, Andrei Vasilevskiy. If captain Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov are healthy come playoff time, the sky’s the limit. Ondrej Palat and Alex Killorn both return for their 10th season in a Lightning uniform, and Brayden Point could be sizing up another 40-goal campaign on a squad known for its lethal power play unit. Amalie Arena spares no expense when it comes to enriching the fan premium experience, investing more than $100 million into the venue. The Chase Club is the place for business-to-business networking at Amalie. VIP parking and a private entrance usher you and your clients in for an upscale, all-inclusive buffet and an on-hand concierge to assist your needs. The newly-renovated Ashley VIP Lounge provides the ultimate treatment with platinum valet service and unlimited upscale dining and all-inclusive beer, wine, and mixed drink options. Get a glance at the fine work of local artists before the view gets even better with the on-ice action from the club level with the Tampa Bay Club.

Everything was glorious for the Lightning going into the Stanley Cup Playoffs a season ago – a President’s Trophy, Nikita Kucherov would win the Hart Trophy, and Andrei Vasilevskiy would take home the Vezina. Unfortunately for the Bolts, the season came to a shocking end just four games into the playoffs via a sweep from Columbus.

Now with some unexpected rest and that embarrassment under their belts, the Bolts’ road to redemption for 2020 begins anew. Part of the team’s core was retained with the signing of Brayden Point, and winger Patrick Maroon was signed from St. Louis to give the team some more grit.

Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and a host of others all return as the Bolts’ window for greatness remains wide open.

Several different levels of suites and other premium experiences are at your disposal at Amalie Arena. Executive suites hold 22 people, while Super Suites can accommodate 40. Both offer customized catering options on a private level of the arena.

The VIP Lounge and Chase Club offer all-inclusive buffet and drink options throughout the game, along with VIP garage parking and a private arena entrance. For premium amenities while enjoying the game in the arena, check out the Heritage Insurance and RSM Lofts, which feature an open atmosphere along with food, beer, wine and soda included.
